What I think: I have to admit that I have never read a book like this one!

Suicide is a much unbooked subject and not one that many writers dare to confer in a book. Trish Marie Dawson is a very talented writer and this book is written amazingly well. Especially when you compare it to other self-published books, dying to forget is one of a kind.

The story line is very well written and draws you in from the start. The first few chapters are actually really horrible for the main character. The writer isn’t afraid to discuss some disturbing topics such as rape, abuse and the afterlife. There is no rationalizing these subjects and they are not ignored or pushed in a little corner in this book.

I have never really thought about the afterlife, what will happen when I die. Will there be something in between or will I just disappear into nothingness. I started thinking about it after reading this. I also realized that one of the bigger life lessons I’ve learned from this book is that you are never truly alone. You will get what I mean by this after reading the book.

I would love to discuss this book up to the smallest details! But I know that I also want you to read it yourself, so I won’t spoil it by telling you.

One last remark about the ending. What was miss Dawson thinking when she wrote such a huge cliffhanger. I could barely contain myself, I felt such a colossal urge to buy ‘Dying to Remember’ (the second book in this series) and read it immediately.

This was really a good Young Adult book and that is why I want to recommend it to all the Young Adult readers out there. If you are in for a interesting, heartbreaking tearjerker but also captivating and beautiful book, buy it and just give it a go.
